Children
Paula co-authored Jessica's Law, a bipartisan bill which
strengthens penalties for criminals who commit sex crimes
against children. Paula also co-founded the Alliance for
Children, which has been a safe haven for more than
20,000 abused children.
Lowering Electric
Rates
Paula is working to lower electric rates and to keep the big
utility companies from price gouging consumers and small
businesses.
Raising
Education Standards
Tarrant County schools are overcrowded. Our textbooks are
outdated and we’re short on computers. But still, our State
Legislature has failed to pass a school finance plan that
adequately funds our public schools. Paula is fighting to make
quality public education the legislature's top priority.
Securing
Our Borders
Paula voted for over $100 million in new funding to protect our
borders and to increase penalties on employers who hire and
exploit illegal immigrants.
Reducing Health Care Costs
Texas businesses and families are paying skyrocketing health
care premiums because the cost of treating the uninsured gets
passed on to patients who have insurance. Paula is the founder
and CEO of a company that helps hospitals deal with the crisis
of the uninsured. In the state legislature, she’ll work to make
quality health care more affordable.
